Professional Actors Studio Summer Showcase

The Professional Actors Studio, the number 1 studio for working actors in Atlanta, announces its Summer Professional Showcase, to be held this Wednesday, June 25th, at 7:30 pm. The showcase offers the best of the intermediate and advanced actors the chance to perform both prepared work and improvisations for an audience that includes both industry professionals and fellow actors. Tickets are a mere $3.00. If you plan to come out and support these fine and wonderful talents (and why wouldn't you?), plan to be at the studio no later than 5:15 on Wednesday when tickets go on sale. They often sell out in minutes!

The studio will also hold a Friends and Family Showcase on Saturday, June 28th, also beginning at 7:30. The Friends and Family showcase offers the best of the beginning actors the chance to perform top-notch prepared work for an audience of their peers and loved ones. The second-best part about the showcase (the best part being the actors)? Admission is free! Make sure to arrive early-seats will almost surely go fast.

Beginning Tomorrow-Beginning Improv Workshop

This new class will provide the beginning to intermediate improv actor with all of the fundamentals of improvised acting, focusing on how to build a successful scene with a partner or partners. Learn how to be successful in auditions and be further transformed into a great scene partner for increased success and collaboration in scripted work. Discover how to think and act "on your feet", improve your listening and reacting skills, and become a more instinctual actor. In addition, actors in this class will be considered for advancement to the Professional Actors Studio performance troupe, "Playing In Traffic", which performs Sunday nights, with pay. This fun-filled class will be taught by Brian Chapman, a main stage member and performer for many years at The Whole World Theatre, and a member of the Professional Actors Studio. The class will be held on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Professional Actors Studio, located at 2849 Piedmont Road in the heart o
f Buckhead.

This Saturday -- Free Cold Read Workshop and Friends and Family Showcase

Two great events are coming to the Professional Actors Studio this Saturday, October 27!

First, from 2-5pm, Nick Conti will conduct a free cold read audition workshop.

This fun and detailed intensive will be helpful for all levels of adult actors and is open to all who have not previously studied at the Studio. We do require that you arrive on time, stay until the end, be 19 or over, and bring pen and pad.

Seating is limited, so first come, first serve.

Then at 7:30pm, the Studio will hold its Fall Friends and Family Showcase. This event is also free. Doors will open at 7pm.

Two Upcoming Showcases

The Professional Actor's Studio is proud to present its Fall Showcase. This two hour event includes short scenes and monologues performed by the Advanced and Intermediate students.

The Showcase is Wednesday, October 17, at 7:30pm. Tickets will be available at the door at 5:15pm for only $3, which includes food and drink. Tickets sell out quickly, so we suggest you arrive at the Professional Actor's Studio by 4:45pm.

There will be a top panel of industry guests at the Showcase. However, please do not bring headshots and resumes on showcase night.

On Saturday, October 27, the Studio will present its "Friends and Family" showcase -- an opportunity for students of the beginner classes to showcase their skills before moving into the professional realm of acting. This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7pm for a show time of 7:30pm.
